Originally from Germany, Alex became involved in the inbound tourism industry in 2004 after moving to Newcastle upon Tyne.
Since then, he has successfully launched Northern Secrets Ltd and has dedicated his professional life to generating business and inbound travel into Northern England and beyond.
Alex is co-founder of Experience North Ltd and extremely passionate about all things Northern England.
He is one of your dedicated trip designers and main contact when creating your travel arrangements to North East England and Scotland.
Paul Mullins
With a wealth of experience within the tourism sector in Northern England, business co-founder Paul is a true organiser and driver of developing itineraries as well as helping clients make most of their time in our regions.
Paul has worked as a professional tourist guide across the UK and was part of the tourism development team in Liverpool, helping to develop the city as an international visitor and business tourism destination.
As a result Paul has an in depth knowledge and logistical experience of destinations around the UK. He is your ideal expert when creating travel arrangements to North West England and Wales.
Anna Unger
After completing an MA in Art History, Archaeology and English Literature in Germany and working in the art auction trade initially, she pursued her passion for tour guiding as a certified tour guide in Munich & Bavaria for a few years.
After relocating to the UK, Anna, who is virtually bilingual in English and German, set up her translation business and is happy to guide in either language. A successful return to her tour guiding roots was accomplished after completing our guide training course. She mainly guides in the North England regions.
She is also one of our dedicated tour designers & creates new tours in all regions.
John Bruce
John was born in Liverpool & certainly understands the Merseyside people & life! His Grandmother’s best friend was George Harrison from Beatles fame and music has always played a large part in John’s life! His passion for the city is palpable when you are on a tour with John!
John is one of our senior tour guides across Liverpool and plays a vital role within Experience North as Operations Manager for our brand Vox City Walks Liverpool. In addition, John is our Relationship Manager for Tour Concierge, our booking platform for tours and experiences.
Alison Swift
All things admin! Alison has a strong background in administration having worked for St Helens Council for over 15 years in a number of administrative roles before joining Experience North.
In her spare time Alison likes to ride her horse, Cinders, walk in the great outdoors, travel and watch the odd episode of Emmerdale or Coronation Street.
Fran Hindhaugh
Fran started off guiding tour groups throughout Europe, but her true love is uncovering the secrets of her home – the North of England.
A history enthusiast and avid explorer who loves nothing more than sharing her passion with others.
Today, Fran works as the perfect hybrid between office and touring. She is one of our project managers but is most at home looking after our visitors!
